GRinhilde deserts Odin to join forces with Xena against the Geat invasion of Rome. Not very impressed with Ares, she gives him good as she gets in verbal reparte. Once the battle begins, Grinhilde fights back to back with Xnea cutting a wide berth about them both. The death toll rises. Her fervor is unabated until seh come face to face with Beowulf. At that very moment, Ares and Odin's battle become visible to all present. As Odin bares his neck for the killing stroke, Grinhilde buries her head in Beowulf's chest. She hides her face in the arms of her former lvoer and cannot watch as Ares puts and end to her former Lord. Shocked beyond words over the death of Odin, Grinhilde remarks that this is both the end and the beginning.
